Hello and welcome to Margaret’s Gallery.

My name is Margaret Kirk and I like to paint sometimes, I also like to do various craft projects. I didn’t go to Art College so explaining what I am trying to achieve or explore does not come easily to me. However let’s have a go.

In general I suppose I am exploring the art of drawing and painting objects and scenes in such a way that they resemble the original article and are recognisable. I am aware that my work can some times be a bit ‘tight’, and too much like a photograph, which can make it a bit pointless since we have such excellent cameras these days. Consequently I would like to loosen up a bit and if some of my most recent offerings appear a bit slapdash that will be why.
